Easter Sunday
Discussion Questions
1. He is Risen! He is Risen Indeed, Hallelujah! What is one significant Easter Sunday
memory you have? What made it so special?
2. Read for yourself our scripture reading for today, Matthew 28:1-10. What stands out to
you as you read this passage?
3. Have you ever thought of the significance of why Christians decorate with beautiful
crosses? Doesn’t it seem a little odd, decorating our jewelry and houses with this ancient
Roman torture device that was used to terrorize and control local populations. If you
wear a cross or decorate with a cross, what does it mean to you?
4. Many Christians decorate with crosses, but for modern Christians they aren't “Good
Friday” crosses, they are “Easter” crosses. A cross made beautiful by the empty tomb. If
Jesus’ resurrection could transform the cross, a brutal symbol of death and suffering,
what do you think it could do to all the dark and unhealthy parts of you?
