Chapel's Sierra Retreat

Chapel in the Pines is happy to present a Retreat aimed at ministry professionals that would like to get away and recharge their spiritual batteries. We are offering this to qualified ministry professionals in the Evangelical Covenant Church family at no cost to them.

Located in the Sierra Nevada mountains at the 4000 foot level, Arnold California is a picturesque small town of under 3000 full-time people. There are several area lakes for recreation, trails to be hiked, and a State Park minutes away.

House 3

Our campus consists of the main sanctuary with separate office build and parking lot. Across Cedar Lane the church owns three houses. House 1 and 2 are used in various capacities, but House 3 stood idle. It was decided to offer this as a ministry outreach. Years of work and planning have finally paid off as we present this unique respite to those in ministry that just need to get away.

Note: This house is not Handicap Accessible. The main entrance is at the top of a flight of stairs, and the main door is too narrow to accommodate a wheelchair.

Deposit: A refundable deposit of $250 will be collected to cover loss or damage during your stay.

Amenities

This is a turnkey solution. Chapel is providing a fully furnished home with all of the linens and towels included in the low-low price of "Free to you" (Donations accepted).

This unit is a Two-Bedroom, One-Bath house with a living room and small kitchen that will sleep up to eight.  All of the dishes, utensils, pots and pans are included. Limited Wi-Fi is also included.

All you have to worry about bringing is your personal belongings and your own food. Didn't bring your own food? Not a problem. The market is less than a hundred yards away. Several eateries are also within easy walking distance.

In the Area

Big Trees State Park

Only 15 minutes up the highway is the jewel of the area where you can take an easy natural walk among the grove of giant sequoia redwoods. Some thousands of years old and hundreds of feet tall have been growing here since the time of Christ.

White Pines Lake

Technically not in Arnold but in the neighboring community of White Pines, it is just a few short miles outside of Arnold. The lake is the perfect spot to relax, or play at the beach. Didn't bring a kayak or canoe? No problem. Just across the highway from Chapel is Sierra Nevada Adventure Company (SNAC) where you can rent or purchase all manner of sporting goods for any season.

Highway 4

What? That's right Highway 4 itself is an attraction. It is listed as a National Scenic Byway.  A drive up to the summit and beyond has many picturesque vistas. Make sure to take your camera. For more information, click here.
