Staff & Leadership

We have a passion for people, our town and our world. Our culture and leadership is characterized by worship, the love of God, and a genuine call to ministry. These core values have been shaped by our rich history of great co-workers and energy; always pressing forward in our call to love God and love others.

The Chapel Office hours are:  Tuesday - Friday, 9:30 to 3:00

  • Jeff Mitchell

    Interim Lead Pastor

Jeff began in ministry working with youth programs such as Campus Life and YMCA camping. After seminary Jeff became an ordained Covenant pastor in 1980. He has served in a number of churches completing full-time ministry this last year at Good Samaritan church in Valley Springs. Jeff also serves the Pacific Southwest conference offering spiritual direction to pastors and spouses. He occasionally leads retreats and workshops.

Jeff and his wife Gael live just down the hill in Valley Springs. They love spending time with their two daughters and their families who live in the Santa Cruz area. They have six wonderful grandchildren.

  • Jimalene loring

    worship arts ministries director

Jimalene has been singing all of her life. The first song she remembers singing in front of a congregation was Jesus Loves Me. She couldn't have been more than four years old standing on the stage clinging to her dad's leg. She was terrified to be in front of all those people! From that day forward she has learned to share her gift of music with others through singing with different worship bands, leading worship, and singing in celebration at weddings, retreats, and other special venues.

She has been married to her fabulous husband since 1990. Jimalene and her husband, Brett, have two adventurous children, Lexie and Drew, who are both away at school.

On a beautiful, sun-shiny day you can find Jimalene working in her garden. On a cold, wintry day she would like to be found knitting in a warm cozy house.

She is excited about Worship Arts Ministry at Chapel and the great team with whom she has the privilege to serve.

  • Kristina Fagundes

    office Administrator

Kristina Fagundes has been a part of the Arnold community as a visitor for over a decade. She and her husband own a cabin here, but finally made the decision to move to Arnold from San Jose in 2016. She found Chapel through a Night in Bethlehem event and loved the feel of the environment for herself and her children.

She has a Paralegal Degree from Kaplan University and has been a Certified Quality Auditor for over 8 years. In the Bay Area, Kristina spent over 15 years working as a Sr. Quality Assurance Specialist and a Document Control Specialist for both pharmaceutical development and device manufacturing companies. She has also worked as a personal assistant, project coordinator and administrative assistant in various industries like construction, finance, radio, and retail.

Kristina is a mother of four all of whom attend(ed) local schools and events. She was blessed to be able to spend a couple years at home as a house wife and mom after her 4th child was born. Now she’s ready to get back to work! She’s interested in helping the Arnold and Chapel communities grow and flourish; putting on community events; as well as bridging the gap between believers and those who are unsure or even fearful of religious organizations.

Dick Jefferson
Pastor Emeritus

Pastor Jefferson (PJ) came out of retirement in early '09 to serve for a year as interim minister at the Chapel and has continued part time as an Associate.

He brings to the church over forty years of leadership, the majority of that time in San Francisco as Senior Pastor of an inter generational, multi-ethnic, economically diverse, and culturally varied church community.

Born and raised in the Pacific Northwest, he received training at Seattle Pacific University (BA Psychology) and Fuller Theological Seminary (MA Biblical Studies).

Assisting at the Chapel with preaching and small group development, Pastor Dick is driven by two questions, "Have we really become Christians yet?" and "If individuals were looking to see Jesus today, would they see Him in us?"

Dick and his wife Linda have four children and ten grand kids. For change of pace Dick reads, rakes needles, and kayaks in local lakes.

Ezekiel 34, John 10, and I Peter 5, along with O. Chambers "My Utmost for His Highest", have given vision and purpose to his personal and pastoral life on a daily basis for many years.

He delights in inviting you to be planted in Christ, to grow in relationships, and to be fruitful in serving others.

PJ retired... again... at the end of 2016 after another 8 years of faithful service.
